1. Don’t bring drums or keyboards. There is a great set of skins set up, and a versatile stage keyboard that you’ll be able to use. Do bring your axe, pedals, cords, sticks, etc. If you have a small amp there’ll be a place to plug it in, and you can plug into another amp if you just bring your axe.
2. If you want to sing or play, sign in on the lineup list at the table next to the front door.
3. The host band leads things off and plays during dinner. They’ll play a short set after dinner and then Billy opens it up.
4. In order to get the best line-up for each set, Billy will match singers and players up, partly in sign-up order and partly based on his gut feeling about who’ll be good together. Everyone will get a chance to play. Note that while the jam is open to all players, the level of musicianship at the jam is quite high, and most players are either dedicated amateurs, semi-pro, or professional musicians.
5. This is a LOW VOLUME jam. We strive to maintain a comfortable listening volume for our audience and the players, so dynamics are important and any players who don’t respect this will be asked to sit down.
6. Listen to Billy. He runs the show and has a lot of work to do to get everyone playing and keep the crowd happy.
“Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.”
